After being severely burned in an accidental fire set by her mother, Lise Deguire spent most of her childhood in the hospital alone undergoing countless surgical procedures. She is the lone surviving child of gifted, unsettled and iconoclastic parents. Recognizing resilience as her super power, she spent many years working on her healing and psychological health. Through her journey Dr. Deguire found a passion for helping others cope with, face and overcome their trauma. For the last 20 years Lise has been in private practice helping others with psychological resilience. She attended Tufts University, graduating summa cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa. She earned her doctorate in clinical psychology from Hahnemann/Widener University. She is the author of her memoir, Flashback Girl: Lessons on Resilience from a Burn Survivor. Dr. Deguire has appeared on NPR, NBC, ABC, FOX, Sirius XM, and numerous podcasts. She is a blogger for Psychology Today, and has been featured in Thrive Global, Tiny Buddha, The Elephant Journal, and Best Ever You. Lise writes a blog about psychological resilience and is a national keynote speaker.
