Motivated by understanding that she had nowhere to go but forward, Molly Leikin knew that she had to find success. Encouraged by friends she lived with in a kibbutz in Israel, Molly realized she had a talent and passion for songwriting. Upon returning to the U.S., Molly made it her mission to get in the door and learn everything she could about songwriting. As a staff writer at Almo Music (A & M Records), then Interworld Music and Chappell Music, she’s had her songs recorded by almost every pop and country artist on the Billboard charts. Molly has written themes and songs for dozens of TV shows and movies, including Violet, which won an Oscar. Molly is the author of 7 books on songwriting including How to Write A Hit Song and How To Be A Hit Songwriter. Her latest book, Insider Secrets to Hit Songwriting in the Digital Age, will be published in July 2022. Molly is also the producer of the bestselling Master Class in Songwriting, a collection of Master Classes she taught at UCLA. She has written songs for and with superstars including Katy Perry, Placido Doming, Cher, Tina Turner, Anne Murray, Billy Preston, Yitzy Ya Ya and the Yo Yo’s. In her 21 years of music, twelve of her clients are Grammy winners, and nineteen more are Grammy nominees. An entrepreneur, Molly created Anything With Words, a speech writing company and Songwriting Consultant, the international song consulting firm where she has mentored two generations of lyricists, songwriters, and singer/songwriters.
